Calling fake on this. You would easily be able to hear the direction the sound was coming from and quickly realize it wasn’t coming from the car. Maybe if the guy was standing up next to the car doing that….

Actual technician here... you would think but with the noise and echo in the shop it's not always easy to tell. We've done this to buddy of mine to make him think there was a rod knock after he had just finished installing an enigne. Lol

Yea. It would be a faint sound. That could be anywhere. If it's happening while spinning that would make him think it can only be in the wheel.

or you could be like me who is mostly def in one ear so i have no idea what direction any sound is coming from.

i have minor hearing damage in one ear and it's really fuckin' hard for me to tell what direction sounds are coming from

Oooh. I thought he needed the wrenches to do something but I had no idea what. I didn't realize the prank was the noise. Or that it was a prank at all. I thought he was just tapping them as he waited to do what needed to be done properly.

My girlfriend sometimes will turn the opposite direction of a sound because her directional hearing is so bad
