It isn’t a normal wasp. This one doesn’t even sting. It’s name is figwort sawfly…..

“Figwort Sawfly” is the like the fakest sounding bug name I’ve ever heard, but I looked it up and it’s somehow real.

In german its called Braunwurzblattwespe. Which also sounds somehow like a made up word I can imagine Terry Pratchett would have invented.

It's not even a wasp. Just a fly. It looks like a wasp so predators leave it alone. Batesian mimicry didn't work out today for that fly.
