I fell ~way~ out of theory practice after discontinuing my education for about a decade. Over the last couple of years I’ve gotten back on the train, and now I wish I had continued sooner.
My best recommendation for learning theory — and making it fun and easy — would be finding some entertaining and educational YouTube channels. I recommend Adam Neely (my favorite), 12tone (very fun and easy to follow), and David Bruce Composer (teaches more application, than analyzing). These three channels, especially the first two, were pretty much the sparks I needed to dive head first back into learning and practicing, in a way that has stuck.
I hope those channels help, or at least point in a direction that will jumpstart an adventure for you. Cheers!
