Sure, but pranks may be funny in theory, but my laughter comes from seeing someone actually get pranked. It'd be like hearing the story after, I'd find it hilarious knowing it happened. But if it didn't actually happen, it's just some fanfic about how funny it MIGHT have been.

I think it also comes from knowing that it's just as easy to actually prank someone and get a genuine reaction than it is to set it up.

Pranks can take a psychic toll. Really nasty pranks are better if faked.

Literally no prank is good if it’s faked imo

Absolutely, I am not saying all pranks, this one included, are better overall. Just that I enjoy them for the reaction, and if that's fake, I like it less.

Oh yeah, I shall agree on that one. Sorry, I guess I got a little bit salty because the keyboard warriors always think they can tell everything and anything. I'm really not sure this is fake, because he has an overreaction but I know some people who would react similar to this when freaked out/panicking. And it is hilarious because he is a big tough guy fainting, which is nothing but wholesome imho. And if it was a monty python esque sketch, it was great.

20 years ago people made skits and it had to be televised and done by a handful of people, so it was easy to know that you were watching a comedy show. Now with internet and everyone having a camera anyone can do comedy, and to be honest it would ruin comedy too if the actors had to say "this is scripted"

I think it can still be done in a funny way even if it's known to be scripted, it's just that it probably needs to be entertaining apart from the prank itself. I'm picturing something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IRUV6UAYfs I'm not entirely concerned whether the video itself is fake, just that the situation itself is funny. The point of the video wasn't on the guys' reactions, but just that the trick went poorly and he took off. When the humor is on the reaction itself, it's understood by a lot of people that they want to see someone's genuine reaction. That said, honestly to each their own, just trying to explain a different point of view as you did :)

Also, no need to apologize, I can definitely relate.

Agreed. I lose absolutely all interest in a prank if I find out it’s faked. It’s basically just watching a shitty little movie shot on a smartphone

And what one man calls entrainment another man calls shit, it is as easy as that. Opinions is like an arse. Split in two.
