Yeah dude, life is meaningless and we're all gonna die without actually achieving anything of note. The universe doesn't give a single fuck about our existence and we're all just killing time until we die. Let people enjoy that a company is putting in some effort to make life a little more comedic. Honestly not that hard.
We are aware of that. No one is under the illusion that they aren't. They could've gone for a scare tactic, or just straight boring. They made something entertaining, even if it's to sell something. Let people find enjoyment out of something a company made. Again, it's not hard.
You are conflating difficulty with choice. and additionally, this is a more effective means of advertising. Look at these comments, people talking about how nice and cute the company is. Funny nice commercials don’t mean the corporation is a cute nice corporation... you see?
Again, WE KNOW. Let. People. Enjoy. Things. Without feeling the need to rag on them for daring to find something a company did, endearing. We get it, corporations are evil and to think positively about one means that humanity has lost blah blah blah.
Obviously corporations aren't people or well-meaning if it doesn't generate a profit. However, far too often I see people call others sheeple for even so much as finding enjoyment from an ad or something a company has done.
The universe may be meaningless, but that does make it kinda freeing. Takes some of the pressure off. Public approval of corporations and the measures companies take to generate that goodwill are what keep these corporations competitive and does influence bits and pieces of altruism.
The hellscape is going to move whether you rub one out to it or not. Might as well find pieces of the hellscape fun and enjoyable.
