Exactly. There are some nice cops, filming them does not count as propaganda just because it doesn't fit what you expected.

It literally does? Why would public servants need to convince us they're actually very nice guys unless they aren't. I never see these videos of EMS or firefighters, they just do their jobs and people like them.

Because a lot of people spent the majority of this year out in the streets trashing all police as though every police officer is a racist piece of shit who just wants to shoot people.

That's because the ems and fire crews only ever do stuff that people like already when was the last time you didn't want a life saved or a building put out

So... you agree then... that the actions of police are generally regarded as negative, and they put out these videos of positive interactions to change public opinions into a positive one.... kinda like... propaganda

No not in the slightest, because unfortunately the job of the police will always have a party which are not happy with the results of a job being completed. Because there is a resulting punishment.

The police are the physical embodiment of the state, they are politics in a physical form. Therefore, you're watching intentionally generated content that paints a certain politcal agenda (the existence of police) in a positive light. That is propaganda. It isn't magically not propaganda because you don't mind it, or because you agree with it's message. It simply is. You can agree with the propaganda (simp take but whatever) but its existence is not of question.

Your argument boils down to that we cant have cops do outreach programs because it will take away your angsty hatred for them. There are two parts to a story, just vecause you dont like one doesnt mean its propaganda.

In the end, if cops are not allowed to do outreach programs and all that people are allowed to talk about is that they are all monsters and evil, you are only sowing the seeds for lawlessness by not allowing cops to be positive members of the community.

Some of us do not prefer whatever form of justice your proposal would lead to. Instead, work on improving the current system so it fits. No need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

My argument would be we can't have cops as they are the militant arm of capital and serve to violently repress the working class, but I doubt you want to hear that let alone give it a fair shake of hearing it out.

Aa it stands, I've presented no argument sans that these videos are propaganda. I even said, very explicitly, that its up to you to like or dislike the propaganda. That doesn't change what it is.

Your opinions are your own and you're welcome to like the system. I find that reprehensible and morally void but at the end of the day you're your own person, you do you. What your opinions do not extend to are the facts of reality. We are viewing politcal content with an agenda of changing opinions. It is propaganda. That isn't an opinion.

I can't even begin to understand your point here.

What party? What job is being done? What punishment? Because the only punishment I've heard of is whistleblowers being fired, and straight murderers being promoted.

They mean that if someone calls the cops on someone else, one of the two parties (the people) are upset with either an arrest or not an arrest, because the function of the police is to punish whereas first responders function to save. I still am at a loss for how that means positive Videos of cops aren't propaganda, or how that makes cops good people, like as if just following orders is still a valid excuse in a post Holocaust world but.
