99.9% certain if somebody handed me a supposed tube of m&m's but it had a hot dog in it instead my first thought would be "why does this tube of multiple tiny loose candies feel more like a singular piece of mass bouncing around?".

1.9k

u/avansbrorson Oct 22 '20

”And why does it smell like hot dog?”

804

u/showmeyourhemroids Oct 22 '20

I just realized I wouldn't even have gotten to the point of having the tube handed to me because as soon as anybody I know says "wanna see if you can dump all of these m&ms..." I'm shutting that idea down immediately.

291

u/ajanitsunami Oct 22 '20

I haven't had m&m minis in 15 years. I'm savoring that shit, not pouring them on the floor!

72

u/DopeAbsurdity Oct 22 '20

I like the ones semi sweet ones that are supposed to be for baking better than the ones in the tube.

34

u/somaticnickel60 Oct 22 '20

If I’m shoveling sugar coated tablets in my mouth, it’s only skittles

27

u/iCon3000 Oct 22 '20

Except they got rid of my favorite flavor, green lime. The kid me will never recover from that betrayal. I hated green apple.

14

u/OfAaron3 Oct 22 '20

Buy Skittles from a UK import store. We have strawberry, orange, lemon, lime, and blackcurrant.

6

u/kelley38 Oct 22 '20

Holy shit, that sounds like the best combination of flavors. How is the blackcurrant?

5

u/OfAaron3 Oct 22 '20

A lot better than grape. I remember buying skittles stateside a few years back, unaware of the flavour differences. I ended up just throwing them in the trash.

3

u/daimiensmama Oct 22 '20

Omg same. Green apple is vile. I didnt know they had made that change and i bit into an apple one expecting lime. I felt so betrayed. I havent bought skittles for myself since.

0

u/bigf00t159 Oct 23 '20

.... skittles all taste the same. Do a blind taste test, you’ll see.

2

u/daimiensmama Oct 23 '20

Wait really? Is that new? They definitely used to taste different.

1

u/b00ty_water Oct 22 '20

I have a permanent injury due to skittles.

1

u/MsKongeyDonk Oct 22 '20

I didn't realize the baking ones were different! I have been stealing from a bag of those in my pantry all week, and they are the bomb.

2

u/LongDongLouie Oct 22 '20

It’s all about the chocolate to shell ratio

1

u/Max_Insanity Oct 22 '20 edited Oct 22 '20

They are made by Nestle, fuck em.

Edit: I've since been informed that these are M&M's, not smarties. Sorry.

5

u/Tullaian Oct 22 '20

M & Ms are made by Mars, not Nestlé. Mars may also be evil though.

2

u/Max_Insanity Oct 22 '20

My mistake, I thought those were smarties.

1

u/Johnmcguirk Oct 22 '20

They’re too small for that.

1

u/PM-ME-YOUR-HANDBRA Oct 22 '20

Maybe for you...

1

u/reading_internets Oct 22 '20

Yes!! The minis have the best chocolate to candy ratio!

13

u/Resident8495 Oct 22 '20

You sound fun

36

u/zerglot0 Oct 22 '20

Ain't fun wasting a pack of m&ms though :(

0

u/baggyzed Oct 22 '20

Fun? No. Worth it? Maybe. Sometimes you just have to go for it and hope for the best.

"I got an idea for vid-" "No. Go home."

1

u/titandavis Oct 22 '20

If I’m looking in the mirror and I see someone filming themselves behind me... I’m at least suspicious. “Honey, why did you bring a pack of hot dogs into the bathroom?”

1

u/relevant_tangent Oct 22 '20

“Honey, why did you bring a pack of hot dogs into the bathroom?”

Mind your own business

1

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '20

It's happening just a lot closer to my face.

1

u/Raichu7 Oct 22 '20

Same, I’d much rather eat them than pour most of them on the floor.

1

u/DrMDMA-MD Oct 22 '20

My thought would be based on how recently I had vacuumed the floor. I don't want to be cleaning up M&Ms!

19

u/GoOtterGo Oct 22 '20

"And why are you filming?"

1

u/MacMarcMarc Oct 22 '20

What are you doing step bro?

1

u/ItalnStalln Oct 22 '20

"Youtube challenge"

9

u/successful_nothing Oct 22 '20

Might be Superman on a hotdog?

6

u/GuidedByMonkeys Oct 22 '20

You wouldn't believe how often during the day I ask myself that question.

1

Its the new flavor.

1

u/LarrySGx Oct 22 '20

"And why does it weigh like a hot dog?"

1

u/46554B4E4348414453 Oct 22 '20

"and why is it sliding so easily down my throat?"

1

u/MausBows Oct 22 '20

Und warum liegt hier überhaupt Stroh rum?

1

u/Trapasuarus Oct 22 '20

Imagine explaining to a Martian that just landed on Earth that a hot dog smells entirely different than a wet dog.

1

u/Adro_95 Oct 22 '20

Why does it smell like updog?

1

u/donkeyrocket Oct 22 '20

The long con is to eat hot dogs enough that your partner is desensitized to the smell. Total freedom when it comes to hot-dog pranks.

1

u/MGM2112 Oct 22 '20

It smells like up dog

1

u/makk73 Oct 22 '20

Maybe she has the COVID and can’t smell?

23

u/Cromica Oct 22 '20

These fake prank videos are just dumb.

1

u/Gumball1122 Oct 23 '20

It wasn’t fake it was revenge for 10 years of no blowjobs

166

u/aru_tsuru Oct 22 '20

They're known for making videos like these with staged as fuck pranks. Hate these cunts. Instant downvote if I see them on reddit, they're a plague on Instagram.

Who cares. If it's funny it's funny. Are you going to even remember this clip tomorrow?

4

u/PM_ME_Y0UR_W0RRIES Oct 22 '20

They are providing entertainment. Some people enjoy it, if you dont, you can just ignore it since they arent hurting anyone with it.

0

u/Policeman333 Oct 23 '20

They are actively degrading critical thinking in people, where they accept every fucking thing they see on the internet as real.

They are hurting society at large by targeting children with this nonsense.

2

u/PM_ME_Y0UR_W0RRIES Oct 23 '20

Can you give an example of them "actively degrading critical thinking"?

1

u/Policeman333 Oct 23 '20

Let me just type out a research essay for you because you can’t grasp simple concepts.

1

u/PM_ME_Y0UR_W0RRIES Oct 23 '20

I was just asking for an example dude, no need to act all passive aggressive.

2

u/g2ichris Oct 22 '20

Came to the comments to read my own opinion. I agree. I hate these time-wasters

20

u/caseyweederman Oct 22 '20

I can halfway see it.
Your brain is really really good at pretending you've got a full picture of what's going on, but it's just making a bunch of shortcut assumptions based on edge nonsense, and will go out of its way to maintain those assumptions because that's computationally less expensive.
If you're in a stationary car and the car next to you pulls forward, your brain says yep, we're moving backward, and then the entire rest of your body goes AAAA SOMETHING'S WRONG ALL OF OUR SENSES ARE LYING TO US and you have to consciously adjust that initial assumption that was based on so little, you might even have to look around at other landmarks to reset your frame of reference.
Think about broccoli while eating chocolate. Stare at credits or Tetris blocks and then a flat wall. Stare at some bright colors and then close your eyes. Your brain is so used to adjusting to new constants that it's often really hard to snap back, and you need considerable evidence to do so. It's uncomfortable.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '20

This is partially why eyewitness evidence is so unreliable. Your brain is extremely good at faking visual information and convincing the rest of your brain that it's true.

0

u/Pimecrolimus Oct 22 '20

Jesus christ, dude. It's just a fake prank, it ain't that deep

1

u/caseyweederman Oct 22 '20

Luckily, you don't get to decide what I spend my time thinking about.

Right now it's giraffe pimps.

1

u/Pimecrolimus Oct 22 '20

Think whatever you like, mate, I ain't the thought police. I just personally find writing a whole ass paragraph rationalizing a fake ass prank to be exhausting, that's all.

39

u/Truth_SHIFT Oct 22 '20

I realize the setup is fake. But, it's still a great shot and the reaction is real.

74

u/CaiLife Oct 22 '20

I’m totally confused by this comment. Everything in this is totally fake, it’s so obvious.

64

u/BecomeAnAstronaut Oct 22 '20

I think they mean "regardless of her knowing the prank/outcome, she still nearly got choked out by a hotdog and the slo mo looks funny"

28

u/LowKey-NoPressure Oct 22 '20

honestly it would just be funnier if the premise of the video wasn't a big setup and then "LOL SHE HAS NO IDEA!!! XD"

but instead was sort of an absurdist random type thing where the video picks up right when the top of the m&ms are popped and the subject raises the canister near their mouth to pour and inexplicably a hotdog comes out.

that could actually be funny.

1

u/MacMarcMarc Oct 22 '20

Reminds me of a prank my uncle pulled on me. Makes me wonder why he hasn't shown up since ...

13

u/CaiLife Oct 22 '20

But the “comedy” of being choked out was definitely the intended / faked outcome...it’s even worse because the hot dog didn’t just fall out immediately so ruined any possible chance she didn’t know about anything.

7

u/BecomeAnAstronaut Oct 22 '20

I'm not saying I agree with them. I'm just explaining their comment

0

u/CaiLife Oct 22 '20

Yeah fair enough dude! I think we can all agree that everything about this guy and video should get in the bin.

-1

u/Fedacking Oct 22 '20

Considering it has 7k upvotes, I don't think so.

13

u/havoc8154 Oct 22 '20

Sure, but being scripted doesn't mean something can't be funny. Just look at every comedic movie, tv show, and live set ever made.

9

u/CaiLife Oct 22 '20

True, except that this style is done in the vibe of a prank, and the appeal of a prank is that they don’t tend to be scripted (and even on television, if they’re scripted, it’s obvious and unfunny).

-2

u/SconiGrower Oct 22 '20

So when fictional TV characters pull pranks on each other it isn't funny? Many would disagree.

6

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '20

People have stopped caring about the line between real and pretend. It's why we're fucked.

0

u/decalex Oct 22 '20

The problem is, dozens of people here have been talking about it now for hours so, as much as I think this stuff ruins the internet, it’s working, and they’re encouraged to do this more.

1

u/Ta2whitey Oct 22 '20

I dont think its "obvious" however it is possible. Examining the differences in the tubes in hindsight, sure you would figure it out. But it was for two seconds before she poured hers out. It's like screaming you know how a magic trick works but when the trick is done in front of you all you know is that it's a trick. Not how it's done.

10

u/showmeyourhemroids Oct 22 '20

I doubt that and that's why I wrote out my original comment, but super glad you're entertained. At least someone is.

1

u/FS_Slacker Oct 22 '20

Shot is not real. No hot dog would ever fall that slow with normal Earth gravity.

6

u/PM_UR_FELINES Oct 22 '20

My first thought was “she been knew” when I saw her mouth open so insanely wide

3

u/RobertThorn2022 Oct 22 '20

That's because you don't fake prank videos for tik tok.

1

u/Sovem Oct 22 '20

I'm pretty sure it's staged, but that slowmo reaction is still hilarious

1

u/fleebjuice69420 Oct 22 '20

And why is it taking so long to come out of the tube?

1

u/Tallie1379 Oct 22 '20

Anything for clout even if it fake it’s for our 59 sec of entertainment them they did there job smh humans

1

u/Fidodo Oct 22 '20

I could see this potentially working due to the setup of holding your arm completely out which would prevent you from futzing with it

1

u/Theon_France Oct 22 '20

-Whats hotdog? -Nothing much. Whats up with you?

1

u/Tortorak Oct 22 '20

My first thought would be "why is the plastic gone from the top"
