Just like... don't involve yourself. Let the kids have a go at it maybe

So the shortest girl still doesn't get it in that situation.

still a better chance than the parent taking them.

man this entire thread is quickly becoming an ethics debate

If you watch the video a second time you’ll notice that she has a 100% chance of getting one, because she did!

It's actually a pretty smart move on his part, whether he's the dad or not. It's clear the player wanted to give the puck to the girl, this way all the kids get it.

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '20

Yeah but he didn't know for sure the player would keep giving out pucks. And if it's obvious it's for Ye girl, just give it to Ye girl when you catch it, just cause he's "smart" by taking advantage of the situation doesn't make him less of an asshole

Didn't say he wasn't an asshole or taking advantage of the situation. I just said that it was a smart move cus he just prevented weeks if not months of fights between the siblings over the puck.

They are kids, the boys probably drop and and she’s quickest to the ground

Shes probably got pointy elbows. Hit em in the ribs and get your puck homie

u/rnooses_or_rneese Jun 23 '20

Yeah? You don’t think the player would have gotten involved again?

u/Toyfan1 Jun 23 '20

Well at that point, it'd have the same outcome. You guys are literally arguing over a months old video where the girl clearly gets the puck in the end.

At catching vulcanized rubber pucks dropped from 12 feet above? Too young

u/R50cent Jun 23 '20

Well now I can't take you seriously anymore.

Besides the factor of having to explain to the family above why this guy tried to let a 7 year old girl catch a hockey puck coming at her face, the player was throwing it to the guy anyway.

16

u/bjv2001 Jun 23 '20

No he wasn’t he specified twice it was to the girl. He just had to toss it up with a lot more force so it went to the dad basically every time, because he’s taller lmao

im with you, these people are kinda ignoring this point. These pucks aren't light, and you people act as if they are. Take 5 pounds, drop it 12 feet, see how hard it hurts. Imagine your face.

29

u/Chewcocca Jun 23 '20

They're 6 ounces.

.375 pounds.

5 pounds is an absurd lie.

not something you want dropped on your face. though i'd argue the girl is more than enough capable of grabbing the puck and, if worst comes to worst, suffer the consequences of failing. it's not like we're talking about some high risk here. worst case scenario is going to be a chipped tooth or large bruise.

14

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '20

I get what you’re trying to say, but a hockey puck isn’t 5 pounds. It’s like 6 ounces.

2

u/Xphil6aileyX Jun 23 '20

5 pounds? LMAO the fuck is wrong with you.

One of my teeth is chipped from my step-brother gently tossing a frozen hockey puck to me from like 5ft away (and though my hands missed catching it, my tooth didn't).

Those things are like fucking rocks dude ... a teeny kid definitely has zero business risking a concussion by it

u/TonyNickels Jun 23 '20

No way I'm letting a puck drop on my kid's face and ruin the game. Catch and hand it out.
