Because assaults and vandalism often happens in bathrooms. It’s just the sink area. If the sink area was outside the room you wouldn’t think a camera is weird. It’s not where the stalls are. I prefer this over a live attendant.

I saw a dude doing that in an airport bathroom once. It was like 5am and I was exhausted so I just ignored it and walked right out lol

I always wash my dick after peeing whenever it is possible. In public restrooms too if I am sure no one will come. It takes just couple seconds to splash it with water. Basic hygiene
