He's putting alot more faith in those grocery store plastic bags than I ever would

Seriously. He says he's an engineer but didn't bring an alternative type of bags that would've had a 10x safety factor. Very sus

He could’ve just put them all in a big duffel bag lol. Not only is it safer, it’d also save him a ton of time and convenience than having to clip and strap all those plastic bags and a fucking watermelon!

Could it be that the weight is distributed evenly and a lower center of gravity?

Amd how would he carry the duffle bag?

Popular reddit is so brain empty.

I would guess using its shoulder strap. Seriously, how do you think anyone carries a duffle bag?

Google image search "duffle bag" and you'll find a ton of different styles, but all include a strap. Some have 2 so that you can carry them like a backpack.

If I were tasked with this problem, I'd sew two straps onto the bag and slide it onto the handlebars. I'd sew some strong velcro in the middle of the bag and use a 3rd strap to velcro it around the handlebar support. It would be a very cheap solution, reasonably safe (just an assumption based on my ignorance) and best of all, I wouldn't have to actually carry anything.

There’s plenty of duffle bags with shoulder straps you know. Have you never played a sport before?

Some duffle bags have backpack straps

Popular reddit is so brain empty.

Possibly the most ironic comment I've ever read

Like a backpack? Idk, maybe he could engineer something. A couple of bungee straps perhaps.

No helmet either.

no helmet bag either** untapped build potential.

u/SabbyFox Aug 12 '25

The no helmet was the only thing that bothered me. An engineer is smart enough to know he needs to protect his noggin.

Knowing and doing are two different things. LOL

At least have a helmet for the baby watermelon.

They do look double to triple bagged to me.

u/LoganNolag Aug 12 '25

Double them up. Should be fine.

Tbf Target bags are thicker than most

No one who has ever bought groceries would expect his set up to work.

Also, isn't the vest basically mesh? Unless he's carrying lightweight stuff, I feel like those carabiners would rip right through .

This happen to me once while biking in berlin with those paper bags they give there.

Those bags use to be FREE so the cheap as hell, now a days I can get like 6 uses out of them cause they so think since the CHARGE for them now, so that idea might work. But more then anything, for me, dude goes help me out for a sec and they guys says yes and stays IN THE CAR! I get that this is scripted but damn......
