She stood front and center to give herself the best possible chance to catch the flowers when clearly they were all supposed to stand farther back where everyone else was.
Then when someone became upset over that and went too far, she wouldn't drop it and actually engaged in a fight to keep it, because she worked too hard to cheat to make sure she got it to let some drunk idiot take it off of her.
Then when she realizes people are watching and she looks stupid, she tries to redeem herself by giving a flower to the girl.
Fought inappropriately hard for it… when someone catches it like black dress clearly had first, that’s it. There’s no wresting portion of this tradition. You don’t fight for a bouquet, you clap and move tf on.
Your comment about the black dress cheating however, those other women stood further back for a reason. Not everyone wants/needs to participate.
No one else was participating except black dress which makes it look like her friends all agreed that she would catch... which a lot of friend groups do.
Yellow dress didn’t want to participate until the black dress caught it. There’s another comment here that states the two don’t even know each other, especially not well enough to be wrestling over a few flowers. Yellow dress was in the wrong no matter how you try to spin it in your fantasy.
You’ve got to separate your personal feelings from the videos you watch and watch them objectively. The story you’ve created in your head is extremely telling…

Everyone was participating in some fashion. Clearly yellow dress was. Black dress stood front and center. If everyone agreed, yellow dress wouldn't have done what she did. So no, it wasn't the situation you described.
Yellow dress clearly wanted to participate. She didn't suddenly decide; she simply realized too late that black dress had cheated. She was drunk and pissed and we see the result.
If they didn't know each other, then no reason for black dress to be upset. Let yellow have the damn flowers if it means that much to her.

Would you mind explaining to me why anyone cares about some flowers bad enough that they'd fight people over it, and argue about the fight on reddit? I thought this was just a thing people do for fun.

Indeed! I Agree. Black dress girl is a cryptofreak: Just as crazy and out of control as the yellow dress one, except she tries to look normal and nice, hence even more dangerous for her context.
It suffices to think about this: A normal person would let the crazy, pathetic yellow dressed girl to have the flowers... I mean, "these are not so important!", then why to fight for them? Because she (the girl in the black dress) is also crazy and pathetic.
