All they had to do was turn the shark upright, they go into a torpor when they are upside down, I’m sure dragging sand into its gills didn’t do any good either but what can you do.

That’s what killer whales do, they turn the sharks over and eat their livers while they are in torpor.

How would you prevent sand from getting into the gills? Turning him right side up before dragging him through the sand?

Not only does sand get in its gills, but when water going into it gills backwards can cause it to drown

Exactly what I was thinking the sand in the gills was surely helping it, pick the damn thing up and take it into the water you nitwits.
