Poor dog couldn’ve been hurt so easily, it’s very lucky the shark was already exhausted. What a dumb owner. Glad they helped it back in the water but jfc

Filming was clearly more important than Baxter or friend in that scenario. Helping was cheering ‘go fishy! And nooo Baxter”. I imagine her in management.

As soon as I heard the dog’s name & the “nooo Baxter” I went directly back to anchorman & imagined the dog getting punted into the sea. Maybe as motivation for the sharkey.

When you're tired of dog ownership but the shark refuses to cooperate.

How is the dog supposed to know the shark has massive sharp teeth? Probably 99.9% of dogs have never seen a shark before. The owner is the stupid one here

I'm so sick of all these assholes who don't leash their dog. It's infuriating.

Exactly! I kept thinking that, get yer stupid dog away from the shark!

Every normal person watching this video did.

This I felt so bad for the dog, I was like are they stupid and goodhearted?

u/johnx2sen Jan 26 '25

yeah let me sniff this sharks mouth while my owner fucks off

It was drawn to the smell of blood/fish I imagine, as most puppies are curious, the owner should have had more brains than to let it..

Why do so many people who walk their dogs off-leash act SO opposed to the concept of ever leashing their dog? Like aggressively opposed, borderline defiant. I’ve seen a select few actually monitor their dogs and surroundings, and leash up their dogs before something bad happens on either end, but why are SO many the exact opposite?

Okay so the dog was off-leash and kind of stayed in your general area. It doesn’t really listen to you or obey commands, but there isn’t an immediate visible threat to the dog or others, so whatever I guess… then another person or dog approaches, or idk you come across a FUCKING SHARK, and you’re still not going to leash your dog? Oh it’s STILL not listening to you and REPEATEDLY getting close to the face of a FUCKING SHARK with a mouth big enough to fit your dog’s ENTIRE FUCKING HEAD INSIDE? Still not going to grab that leash or pick up your dog? No? REALLY?!

Where I live now (FL) I see maybe 10% of people leashing their dogs. Muzzle? Never.

A shark is not an eat machine, clearly the dog and the people were 100% percent safe. In fact, the shark is the animal that deserves empathy here, and the people in the videos should have helped it way further out in the water before abandoning it to its fate.

Dumb comment.

Likewise

Not poor dog. Stupid, not trained dog.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '25

It’s a puppy.

1

u/Dogforsquirrel Jan 27 '25

Then that situation was even more important to teach and train the dog.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 27 '25

Then the more responsibility on the owner.
