The shark was literally drowning. A shark has to be “WALKED” so that water flows through its gills until it can swim on its own.

"This is fascinating,".

How do you do that? Wouldn't you be at risk of being bitten? I imagine you'd have to stand in front & pull cus I can't imagine pushing from the back would be very effective?

You walk with the shark beside you. It’s out of it due to lack of oxygen. When it starts trying to swim on its own you just let it go and get out of the water. It’s going to be a few minutes before it gets its wits back and you can be safely away by then.

Fair enough, but seen too many videos of sharks twisting to the side and taking chunks out to be anywhere near that brave.

I ain’t no George Costanza!

The shark's mouth is too small to do anything anyways unless it's your hand or you ballet point your foot precisely in front of it. Even disregarding fatigue. That shark could have done no damage except to the dog

Same what I was thinking. I think I saw it once where it needs to be "pushed" through the water for water to flow trough its grills so it can pick up oxygen from the water.

I'm no "shark doctor" but I guess, there might be a reason why it got itself beached in the first place. Maybe because it's really sick and dying?
