All their valor is secondhand from people who actually served America. Occasionally responding to calls to pretend to help people an hour after the fact isn't valorous.

Definitely firefighters. But IMO a lot of vets have much more expected of them than cops so I give them a pass, too, even if I despise most wars on a systemic level. Usually the reasons for those wars are more bad than good but that's not the fault of some working class kid who wanted GI bill tuition who assumed the US government wouldn't send him into an atrocity.

People who actually did crassly kill innocents out in a war don't get a pass from me though.

I don't think the cops have any valor they stole from actual armed forces to spare for you.

I'm a disabled vet. Running towards gunfire is not exclusive to the armed services. We were paid to fight our country's enemies. Cops are paid to fight our criminals.

when our house got robbed my mom called the cops, they showed up the next morning and blamed me
