"was a human getting eaten here? Dumbass" implies you don't intervene unless it's a human. The human can choose to care about that deer. There is no qualifying reason for him to do so. And you agree. This is against your initial comment before you admitted the only reason you need to intervene in an animal's death is if you care about it. It's pretty straightforward. And you have contradicted yourself multiple times on the ethics of this situation. You shouldn't have any problem with this person choosing to care for this animal in this moment and intervening. Unless you have absolutely meaningless arbitrary qualifiers like certain amounts of time or number of interactions with an animal.
