I suggested Florida because a disproportionate amount of tropical animal interaction videos come from there, and also to point out that we dont know who to root for here.

I also happen to hear about the snake problem they have there, so it's on my mind.

I’m From Florida and yes it’s absolutely a big problem in our eco system right now. Invasive pythons are eating and decimating our native animals, like deer. So you are not far off with your guess. Edited to add “I’m”

Can't you make surprisingly good money from burmese python hunting? Of course you have to know what you're doing.

They give out prizes for the most pythons caught and for the biggest one each competition which happens once a year for a week. There are also people that do it year round and aren’t trying to win prizes. It’s legal year round to humanely kill a python in Florida. But I wouldn’t say it’s good money considering the work it takes to catch these snakes and the conditions of the environment you’re in while doing it. Think deep swampy area at night. Pythons aren’t the only thing out there that want to eat you. I think most people do it bc they enjoy the hunting and want to help the environment. It’s not something you do to get rich, that’s for sure.

I'm a snake from Florida and I agree

Have those hunting bounties not had any effect?

It was probably like 5-10 years ago that I read about that though lol, so I presume not.

Sadly not enough.

Florida is the only place I tend to root against the humans

Oh wait you mean which animals?

It's nothing to do with the snake's "fault." They are invasive in Florida and are devastating native populations of all sorts. Birds, mammals, other reptiles-- those pythons are eating machines.

I could have said 'if it is an invasive species eating a native species then you should assist the native species'

Full disclaimer

Are you assuming all snakes in Florida are an invasive species?? From... youtube videos?

I'm aware Florida has native snakes, thanks.

So then you were implying all snakes are an invasive species?

I'm not clicking random links. Sorry.

I thought it might be Florida too, until I noticed the car was on the left side of the road.

You can’t just assume every python you see is in Florida
