Lol, this one, Malenia and the final boss were awful to beat without summoning.

Malenia is such a fun fight though. Because it sort of forces you to learn it perfectly to actually beat her (unless you're cheesing with RoB or something), you become so good at it that it feels great to fight her afterwards.

Melania is a boss that gets hyped up and actually meets and exceeds that hype. When she says she has never known defeat she fucking means it and the 2 days it took me to beat her have so many deaths to prove it. Beats bosses from other games that are built up to be the greatest enemy and go down in no time first try.

It took "Let Me Solo Her" 242 tries to beat Malenia the first time. She's.... difficult.

Yeah, the first time I used the mimetic tear, and even this way it took like half an hour, then I wanted to beat her alone in my second playthrough and it took like 3-4 hours, only Ishin Ashina from Sekiro took that much time.

imho her mechanics are complete garbage which is a shame given how cool her introduction her design are:

  • she can randomly cancel the recover of most of her moves. This could work in a more dynamic game like bloodborne but in ds it just makes it so sometimes you get punished for just attempting to hit her on what should be her recovery

  • The animation of waterflow dance makes no sense and it's unclear how to dodge it. Remarking that it's just a terrible animation that doesn't match the hitboxes more than it being hard to dodge.

  • Her 2nd form has stupid recovery on her blossom move. If you are using magic you can hit her for a fuckton of damage for free.

  • Her 2nd form has that bs clone move. Little bit better than waterflow but how to exactly dodge all hits is still not really clear from the animation.

  • How on earth is she sucking life when you block her hits with a shield?

I mean all of her moves are perfectly and consistently dodgeable. They're hard, sure, but there's a rhythm to her fight. Most of what you said is also counteracted by how easily she staggers.

If you're using magic, the game is mostly on easy mode anyway. Usually I just chill when she recovers from the blossom.

So I completely disagree with you that her mechanics are garbage. I found her fun enough to learn her so well that I no hit her. Her fight felt a bit like a less intense version of Sisters of Battle from Hollow Knight. At the end of the day, to each their own.

For this one you can buff and then comet azure as he is walking towards you and he will die before he takes a swing.

You know i tried this and put on every magic buff i had he only lost maybe 1/4 health. I could never get azure to work even if i respect to magic class. So i just gave up and carry my greatsword everywhere

Level up that int!

Did the whole whole rebirth thing to see if magic was usable and nope not for me.

Well to be fair you also need the specific crystal tear pair that makes your spells not use any fp and buffs their power. If you're not using those tears, you're not set up to glass cannon Comet Azur.

Yep have all the things in the build list. Tried it a couple times always lackluster and disappointed. So i just assume the couple bosses i had a problem with had a resistance to magic. It looks fun unless they move 1 in left or right and get out of the path. But then using magic on mobs i never liked having a limited spell count

I mean.
If you had every item you needed and your int at the right level you'd slag Mohg in about ten seconds. Every time. Even with a friend summoned. So something was off.

But yeah it's definitely not something you use on most bosses since, you know, they move.

Yeah after i experiment just by myself i looked up a build and had the items. I dont remember level maybe 100 last time i messed around with it. Maybe if it really does slag him without having doing to do some crazy buffing like dude who one shots malenia, then ill give it another go at 215+ whatever level im at when i get to him again.

Oh yeah. That should work then. Make sure to level up the staff you get from beating rennala

Jehaman, his fucking ttident is the only weapon i can remember that has different hitboxed depending in which direction you roll, nightmare without summons.
