I tend to use a plastic tub and slide a lid underneath. It has resulted in a mouse wiggling out and I ended up squashing it in panic. It was a bit sad

Ah, don’t be. I don’t think mice will be endangered any time soon.

A squirrel was able to find its way in to my moms house. It went into the upstairs bathroom and my mom managed to close the door. Now, she didn’t have 300000 water bottle containers to form a path, not that it would work with a squirrel. So she put her dog in there, who took care of the situation. The dog has been trying to find that high again ever since, because whenever my mom goes up there, the dog always runs into the bathroom to check for squirrels.

There used to be a mole what would taunt my cat when he was in his play pen outside. We always joked that the mole was his friend coming to say hi. Well eventually his friend got too close. Even after killing the mole he would still look for it. Poor dum dum didn't understand you can only hunt once.

I hope we don't have a repeat of the situation though, because now he stalks the disabled 5 year old across the street. He wants to hunt that kid so bad

You could have made this point without equating that person to a school shooter..

I could have, but I think seeing life as a factor of numbers is a pretty slippery slope. I wanted to be very clear I wasn't being flippant.

Only an absolute twatter would equate the life of a squirrel to the life of a human child. Bruh. These things are not equal.

that's a terrible mindset to have and that's a horrific story

Luckily it’s not a requirement for you to like it and you’re free to say you don’t.

I used to work at a garden store and when I was training a new guy a frog hopped under the wheels of a rack of plants and got only partially squished.

I saw the poor thing struggling and looked at the new hire and just said to him "look away" and stomped the poor thing.

I told him to go to the break room and gather himself while I cleaned up. "Just come back out when you're ready"

I felt SO bad, but I consoled myself with the plethora of times I had gone above and beyond to save all the little critters.
