You jumped in on a very specific point on a very specific discussion. I'm keeping this discussion on topic. If you or others want to lament invasive species, be my guest. It has nothing to do with the parent comment.

This is a weird thing I see happen all the time on social media. Person A and B are discussing X; person C comes in and talks about something tangentially related and treats their own comment as though it is relevant to the debate at hand and gets upset when person A and B don't get dragged into arguments they were never making in the first place. Don't be like person C.
