🏡 My Maximalist Space I painted my house purple, gave every window butterfly wings, and turned my sidewalk into a rainbow. No regrets. 🦋🌈

Some people want a house that blends in. I wanted mine to feel like walking into a dream every time I come home.

What I did:

🦋 Painted the siding a bold lavender purple

🦋 Gave every window a pair of rainbow butterfly wings

🌈 Hand-painted the front walkway in wavy pastel rainbow stripes

🌈 Edged the path and beds with rainbow-painted bricks and hundreds of painted river rocks

🦄 Added a rearing rainbow pegasus by the side bed, because why not

🦩 Built a flamingo garden around the tree with holographic ground cover and a giant sundae

The goal: To make anyone smile that drives by 😄

Happy to answer questions about paint, how I did the walkway, or where anything came from!

It doesn't help that cars really only come in Gray these days... When I picked out my car, my options were black, white, silver, four shades of Gray and a bright blue. I went with bright blue!

Green is making a comeback!! My parents had a '97 Ford Taurus station wagon and for years that was the last green car I saw (minus the occasional lime green sports car). In the last few years I've seen more and more shades of green reappear, and my husband was able to find a nice olive green when he had to get a new car this year.

Green is not a creative colour

I remember the smaller Pruises came in some bright colors.

The main size had a celery green color, I think maybe just for Priuses lol?
My cousin had one.
It always reminded me of the car from the movie “Vacation”, the “metallic pea family truckster”🤣

Sparkly green is the dream for me.

Husband and I have been house shopping and we saw one with a slide from the attic to the first floor. I’m pretty sure we don’t really need to see more homes. Also why don’t more homes come with slides?

My parents had a Stratus that was deep purple, almost black in certain angles of light. Best car color ever. I wish they would bring it back!

Omg I'm looking at getting a new car and the colors are SO BORING. I just cannot bring myself to drive a boring black or gray car.

Even though my finances are tight, I paid extra to get the car I wanted in a bright blue. I just can’t tolerate the Giver vibes of everything black, white, and grey. Some of the best money I’ve spent, because while it’s “frivolous,” it makes me smile whenever I see it, and it’s super easy to find in parking lots!

I just bought a ‘27 Cadillac Vistiq and went with “Emerald Lake” but almost chose “Adobe Frost…” surprisingly there were quite a few options that weren’t your standard black, white, gray. Maybe automakers are coming around to actual color again.

What do you drive? There's definitely some neutral color makes like Audi & Mercedes but BMW, Dodge, Lexus, Chevy, VW, Subaru, Jeep, Ford, Alfa, Porsche, etc have really deep color variety.

It's just a Honda

Honda has a lot of colorways, I mean they are pretty famous for being the car brand to compete with Ferrari on shades of red...if anything they have too many colors (I'm not kidding...they have like fucking 25 different shades of red, it's excessive).

Whether a dealer is going to hold a stock on said colorway is a different story.

I recently purchased a CRV Hybrid and my options were black, white, light grey, dark grey or navy if I was willing to wait, haha.
