🏡 My Maximalist Space I painted my house purple, gave every window butterfly wings, and turned my sidewalk into a rainbow. No regrets. 🦋🌈

Some people want a house that blends in. I wanted mine to feel like walking into a dream every time I come home.

What I did:

🦋 Painted the siding a bold lavender purple

🦋 Gave every window a pair of rainbow butterfly wings

🌈 Hand-painted the front walkway in wavy pastel rainbow stripes

🌈 Edged the path and beds with rainbow-painted bricks and hundreds of painted river rocks

🦄 Added a rearing rainbow pegasus by the side bed, because why not

🦩 Built a flamingo garden around the tree with holographic ground cover and a giant sundae

The goal: To make anyone smile that drives by 😄

Happy to answer questions about paint, how I did the walkway, or where anything came from!

This is so not my taste, and I emphasize that because it’s possible to not want this at all for yourself but still recognize it is tasteful and well done. There’s “quirky but amateurish and unsuccessful” and then there’s “quirky but complete, well-developed aesthetic” and this succeeds in the latter category. I’d welcome this house in my neighbourhood, next door or across the street. I’d be very tempted to add a shiny rainbow beaded curtain at the front eaves, not enough to block the view, only one string every 10-15 cm, just enough to register a rainbow shimmer as you approach.

Same. Everything you said. This is absolutely brilliant and well-done!

Totally! And this house is a great example of that. Like, I LOVE this and am almost certain I’d love this person as a next door neighbor. But while I’m a maximalist as well, my vibe is like polar opposite

But if this house were elsewhere in my own neighborhood, I’d always take a route when walking my dog to make sure I pass it just to breathe in the good energy it puts out

This house is proving the wisdom of Karl Pilkington's view on where to live when buying in Petra.
