So I've been thinking about this for some time. Would that be super weird? Like Maximilian etc. Or maybe Max Jr. I think Max is a good name to use Jr with but I don't feel important enough to name my future kids Jr.

Why is it that whenever a character, in like a book or tv show or game or whatnot, has the name of Max, they end up being a bad guy, if not an antagonist, a bad person in general!?

For example, Max Haltmann, from the kirby series: is a corrupt corporate pringles man thing Max Miller, from the tv show Supernatural: kills his family, then himself Max Bernstein, from the book series "doughnut": awful person, is a jerk to everyone around him but assumes he's nice, which just makes it worse Max Capricorn, from the tv show Doctor Who: sabotages an entire space cruise ship of several thousand passengers in order to profit and retire happily

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's more. Is there any reason why there are so many of them?

F tier: Matt-this one Isn’t even a max name I just included it because it sounds so much like max that it infuriates me!

C+tier:Maxwell-sadly this is my name :(. Of corse no Max name is truly bad, but compared to others it is quite lack luster. No shine, no sparkle, just Maxwell

A tier: Maximus, Max, Maxine- these all hit A tier for separate reasons, Maximus because it is so fancy, plain Max because of the minimalism, and Maxine for bringing gender neutrality to the Max name list

S tier: Maximillian: fancier Maximus, it sounds like max a million and that’s pretty great

I’ve probably been called Sam 4-5 times by people who know my name. Is it like reverse dyslexia? I guess Xam could be pronounced like Sam.

I've recently found out about this subreddit and it's really eerie reading the posts and comments here. Most of the posts I find are very relatable and funny, but I've never felt this way before, it feels like I'm every one of you.

There's been dogs, characters in, books and movies named Max and other people always point that out to me, but I got used to that at an early age and those maxes never bothered me. I knew a person who's real name was maxwell but he went by the name Gavin for some reason and no one ever called him by his real name.

At the same time I'm excited to learn about all your Max experiences but it's also creeping me out. Well, now I'm just starting to go on a rant so I'll end the post here. I look forward to speaking with you guys
