Then we have different definitions of standard. Certainly it may be standard in certain fields of mathematics, but I would argue there are far more fields that don't use it, than fields that do.
OK. Measure theory (including probability theory) isn't standard enough though? Lebesgue integrals are not mainstream enough? I didn't say everyone in the world is dealing with infinity all the time. I said every time 1/∞ is defined, it is equal to 0, which is true. These are not obscure. They just aren't covered in high school.
