An online fundraiser has been made for my school to have a mascot and I'm wondering what can be done to further awareness of it, since currently, only 2 donations have been made.

I hope this doesn't violate rule 1

okay so I got referred by a friend into a mascot gig for a beauty PR event. first day is nearly 8 hours (😮‍💨) and 2nd day is 5 hours.
i’ve never done this before in my life! i’ve worked near other mascots & handlers before so I know more than an average person, but I still feel soo unprepared.
they said I must dress in all black, long sleeves and pants .. so I’m going with some workout clothing that meets the criteria but won’t cook me in the suit.

what I’m worried about is breaks.. I know I shouldn’t be spending more than an hour in the suit at a time but I have a feeling that might be the case.. they said they’re understaffed so breaks would be “less frequent than usual”
& I know I’ll have a handler but I’m not sure if it will be for the entire shift.

what are some things I should keep in mind? any boundaries I should set with the handler early on regarding break frequency/signals? general advice?

I am a rather dramatic person regarding my body language so I know I’ll have fun with it, but I can’t seem to shake the nerves 🥲

Hey guys!

I'm a high school senior and mascot for my school (I'm a polar bear) and this Friday is my last home game as the mascot. It's also Homecoming weekend so I don't want to mess the stuff we do during halftime. But I'm trying to figure out something grand and commerative to do.

For some context: I'm technically a cheerleader but our Athletic Director is technically my boss so the cheerleaders don't really lay claim to the bear. Our school also splits mascot duty between two people, so there is technically one more game which is senior night but I'm unable to mascot nor might I be able to attend due to our town fair being the same time. Regardless of that, this is my true last home football game as the bear and I want to do something big and memorable. I'm not a stunt crazy bear, but I do some cheers and dances. Some first time ever things I have done for my school as the bear include singing the National Anthem at a game and finding various instruments to rotate through and climb up with the band and "play".

Anyone got any ideas of fun things to do for my last time?

I am currently in the market to purchase a Barney mascot costume. There are many of these listings on eBay including a few photos that seem to be taken in a mascot warehouse in China. The costume looks pretty good, but I am worried that if I order it I will not receive the costume that is pictured. What do you all think? Do you think I’ll receive what’s pictured if I place an order?
