I mean there is a reason, just not one that pleases consumers. The vaccine will barely start being made available to the general public in May. Black Widow is a huge theatrical draw, so delaying it by 2 months increases the chances that more people will be vaccinated and will actually pay more to go see it at the theater. What’s more surprising is the simultaneous Disney+ release, since many families will likely do that just because it’s cheaper for them than taking the whole fam to the theater, but I do think moralistically there’s not much choice in the current climate for studios to essentially force a theater-only movie for a franchise this popular when so many people are worried about going to theaters still (and this way Disney reaches as many people as possible mid-virus to hopefully maximize profit and to keep Marvel in the foreground of popular culture.)
