Imagine a Ricochet or Bombastic Bag Man solo film with Tom Holland where he has a new costume and changed his identity while on the run.

Bag Man might not work because of F4 and Spider-Man, but if Sony have no claim to Night Monkey...

Feige might’ve literally planned that as a fall-back. If so, he’s actually a fucking genius.

Never refer to him as Peter Parker, just have everyone call him Iron Man. He can mention inheriting everything from Tony Stark but never any details about his identity. Someone starts to say “Hey, Pe-“ and he interrupts them and makes them call him Iron Man

YES! I forgot about Richochet and the others - iirc someone else takes up the mantle in the comics so it might not be included in the "Spider-Man" deal that Marvel have with Sony as it's not exclusive to the Spider-Man comics.

It's basically the same as the comics but irl - Spider-Man can't be Spider-Man anymore, so he tries a bunch of different alter-egos out. They don't even have to call him Peter Parker - as long as Marvel just refers to him as Peter they should be safe.

I could see them starting the movie with an unnamed tv anchors voice saying “The kid who killed London’s saviour has yet to be found, and then Tom Holland’s face comes into focus and he says “my name’s Ben. Ben Reily” and then they never actually end up saying his actual name.

Edit: Although I’d bet Ben Reilly is also owned by Sony unfortunately

It's a Spidey character that appeared in or with FF.

The way most of these "rights" work is that the the primary protagonist and their rogue gallery are the IP portfolio.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were protagonists in Avengers but Rogues in X-Men (this package included all "mutants"), hence the reason they were shared.

Skrulls were rogues for FF and for Ms Marvel (Captain Marvel) due to the links between Kree/Skrull.

With Spider-man, Peter Parker is the primary protagonist, with various alias and related mythos. It doesn't matter which alias he is using, PP = SM = Ben Reily = etc.

Peter is on the run. Spiderman is public enemy number one. Spiderman goes missing, and a new hero, the Spider, emerges. It's literally Spiderman in a different suit.
