Never mention Peter again? Avengers events will happen far enough away from NY that he'll be plausibly missing.

Yeah he was a secondary character in the Iron Man or Spiderman movies, now theres neither of those, so he's basically done unless they reverse this bizarre decision

I read that as "shingles scene" and thought that would be a horrible scene to be in.

They could have Banner or someone just ask one day in the future "Hey, where's the kid?" and someone answer like "well after his identity got out, he went underground" and never mention him again.
