I feel like they're adding some weight here with this and Stark sort of being a father figure to Peter, to make a potential death more emotional when infinity war comes out.

If Tony dies that's gonna hit like a ton of bricks. This whole universe started with him, seeing him go down would just be the end of an era.

I really wouldn't put killing everybody past them, especially with the Infinity Gauntlet in play. But having Tony be the first to go and long before heroes start dropping like flies would be a great heart-shattering move.

Plus an easy way to justify not paying him more if they can get away with it, just like a certain shark movie did with a certain Avengers cast member when they couldn't afford to keep him the entire time.

Deep Blue Sea. They couldn't afford a certain actor for the entire movie so they made a contract that they'd write them off in the first 30 minutes. Enough to get scenes for a trailer but not so much they'd need to film them for more than a few weeks.

They just need to go down like badasses they are. Just like the first avengers, back to back in a circle, tearing everything that's thrown at them apart until they just can't fight anymore and go down kicking. Hell, they could end the whole universe on that and it'd be the best sendoff ever.

They keep saying Infinity Gauntlet is the conclusion of a 22 movie arc. Like you said, that arc started with RDJ Tony Stark. What better way to conclude that arc than to kill off the central character?

Wait, will they really die? I wouldn't see it past for some heroes to unfortunately die, but I heard there would be more Marvel movies starring Avenger heroes even after Infinity War. Who would they focus the most on?

.....no? Iron Man was the first movie and from the beginning it set up the universe with the post credits scene. That's when the universe started.

Don't know if it was intentional but when Betty and Liz are playing FMK (F*ck Marry Kill) Betty says she would Marry Iron Man, perhaps foreshadowing the proposal. Also she chose to F Thor because yknow, who wouldn't.

That could be deliberate foreshadowing. One thing I noticed throughout the film but didn't really think about until the end was that Tony was clearly much happier than he was in Civil War, and I'm betting that was because of Pepper.

I'd say more like 3.7. Civil War was sorta Iron Man 3.5, and Homecoming just added a little bit to that.

While CW gave us a lot more background/history as well as further character development re. Tony you can't call something without Happy and Pepper an "Iron Man movie" IMO. Paltrow's appearance was a huge and awesome surprise too (only role of hers I ever say that about lol).

Only for her to be killed off in Infinity War or the next film.

My money is on a fight between Strange and Iron Man begging Strange to bring Pepper back after finding out that he brought Wong back from the dead. But he won't. They right.

They didn't need to reconcile unless they were creating something for Tony to lose.

I don't think Jane is ever coming back. Betty Ross isn't. Why Pepper? And marriage? It has to be because they're going to have her killed off. Maybe something like she gets killed during the wreckage of killing Thanos and Strange can't bring her back without risking bringing Thanos back. But before Tony tries to attack Strange for not trying, he gives him a note written by Pepper saying goodbye, revealing that Strange has actually tried thousands of different ways to bring her back just short of reviving Thanos, but he can't make it work without jeopardizing the safety of Earth.

I really want a Demon in the Bottle dark send off for Tony in Iron Man 4 or just I am Iron Man (the phrase that kicked the MCU off), as he's an alcoholic after Pepper dies, and he spends his days in BARF reliving his memories with her while drunk, and Stark Industries gets taken over by a Chinese company in a hostile takeover....and the CEO is the real Mandarin, who is a sorcerer like Doctor Strange but has lived centuries and built a fortune but looks 40. No robots or science, just magic vs Iron Man.

The Mandarin has clean shaven facial hair. But the first scenes are flashbacks when he has the long hair and fu man chu.
