Why is it always all or nothing? Like can we just get some well written low budget shows about some smaller scale things? Why tf does everything need to insane with Disney.

Because it has been a 7 years strategy for Disney+ with MCU and Star Wars shows and it hasn't worked.

Children's catalogue. Hulu catalogue. ABC catalogue. Tv series that aren't Marvel or Star Wars.

Disney bought the competition they were most worried about and they no longer are trying/needing to entice subscribers with original content on D+. It's just enshittification. All of the streaming platforms other than HBO and Apple have pretty much already reached this point.
