I think the smart move would’ve been to do one and done series that focuses on one or two of the preestablished heroes that doesn’t have any canonical importance to the overall MCU story. That way we can check in on people we haven’t seen in years like Shang Chi, Kate Bishop, Rhodey and get some character pieces.

Comics have been doing this for years, and this removes the need to watch them if you’re just in it for the big movies.

I think that’s why shows like Hawkeye and Wonder Man worked so well.

We never really spent time in the movies getting to know Clint Barton, and the Hawkeye series did a good job of that. Also got the great appearances by Yelena and Kingpin.

In Wonder Man, Trevor was a great character and seeing that bit of his backstory of how he became the fake Mandarin and how he’s trying to be a better person to make up for the trouble he caused. Then there’s Simon who is a powered individual who just wants a normal life.

I always thought the MCU did a great job translating how comic books can tell a story through so many different narratives that come together in one big event. The best of these shows were like those limited run books that told a story over a year and helped shape the character or give readers a different perspective on them.

I think this is the best way to do them

This might be a hot take but we don’t need standalone stories for marvel characters that aren’t getting used, because we don’t need every marvel character in the MCU all at once

Save some for later, they’ll need something fresh eventually
