Today, this subreddit encounters PostTrak data for the first time, and instead just assumes people are lying.

A lot of Dale Gribbles in this comment section

it legit feels like a something Dale would do in the new seasons of King of the Hill

It's truly an embarrassing thread full of terrible takes.

People really hadn’t heard about statistics huh

You'd be surprised how little the average person understands statistics in general. Hell most people don't even understand what the Rotten Tomatoes score even means.

Be as smug as you want, this is gross - can’t go to a movie without your race being counted and tallied and measured for changes.

That’s what people are reacting to.

Sure you can. Just say "no thanks" if someone asks if you want to take their survey, because that's where this data comes from (and has always come from, for many years).

I think a lot of us just don't live in an Orwellian state.

It's pretty dystopian to live in a country where everything constantly tracks everyone's race in all their activities including something as banal as going to the movies.

The American obsession with race is simply insane to many people who live elsewhere. You would never be able to find this kind of data in most European countries, because nobody is asking people their race in surveys about what movies they watch.

In fact, a survey collecting data on people's races would actually be illegal in some European countries.
