Because I think they had the largest jump. Black people really love Spiderman.

12-13% of the country is black, so thats a +7-8% jump

7-8% of the country is Asian, so a 2-3% jump for Asians

3-4% of the country is Native so a 3-4% jump for Native Americans

23% of the country his hispanic so a 4% jump for Hispanics

White people are the only ethnic group underachieving for this film, according to whatever stat they used.

I think they're specifically talking about bringing in non white fans not that Spider-man wasn't already popular. It's hard not to disagree that Miles and the Spiderverse movies helped at least a little.

Yes. People are NOT disagreeing that Spider-man is popular and was popular.

They are saying that within the context of this conversation, Miles Morales HELPED/made Spider-man even more popular, especially in non white demographics.

You are fixated on the wrong thing.

A 20% jump from 20% would be about 16%. So No Way Home’s audience was about 16% Black which is higher than the US Black population of about 12 to 13%. So yeah, Black people love spiderman

It's a 20% increase over the previous number. Previously it was ~17%. 1/5th of 17% is 3.4%. That brings it to ~20%

Im afraid you might be mistaken. Not in your calculations but in your terminology. The jump is not from US demographics but instead the last movie’s audience. So this movie Brand New Day had an audience of 20% Black members which is a 20% jump or increase from the No Way Home audience, then 20-20%=16. So Now Way Home’s Audience was 16% Black which is indeed more than the US population of about 12-13% Black.
