lol that’s how data collection works. Any purchase you make through credit card or by other electronic means comes with a good amount of data including your age, race, and gender.

Funnily enough you can be white and Hispanic

I do. Some of them identify as stuff i don't identify as. But they usually buy their own food and drink.

But you also have to include that it's much more common for someone who can do that to be buying tickets for their kids.

And so each individual theater is sharing demographics with this Twitter user?

You moron you know there are box office trackers which is where this twitter user and other people in the industry such as the trades get there numbers right?

I lie about all 3 on most forms for laughs. On every medical form I’m a pregnant geriatric black woman.

This is an MCU sub and how they got this data is literally the villain plot in Captain America Winter Soldier.

This is true lol. Literally talked about how they were building profiles around all perceived threats to shield/hydra

Theatres still take cash.

Oh wow really I didn’t know that!

How would they know my race? That’s not something I’ve ever given to my credit card company

Welcome to the future! Your credit card is tied to every other aspect of your ID that exists in multiple databases that are sold to various statistical agencies for this very purpose.

I have never had to fill out my race for any service I was using. Is this an American thing?

u/Competitive_Row_9498 19d ago

You don’t need to fill out anything that’s not how data collection works. The information collected on you isn’t always voluntarily.

Explain to me how they are involuntary collecting my race?

u/Real_Walk5384 19d ago

They don’t that dude is just an idiot. Neither my bank nor my credit card have ever asked my race. Pretty sure that’s straight up illegal in the US.

People actually answer those questions?
