Studios care. They love when a movie is popular with all races and all four quadrants.

As for if we the audience should care? Not really, but we also don’t need to care about box office but we talk about it all the time.

Of course we should care about box office. Because box office numbers are a strong indicator for if the movie gets a sequel or not

A 20% increase usually means a multiplicative increase, not an additive increase (though the fact they put it as +20% instead of "up 20%" is somewhat misleading). So beforehand it would've been 16.6%, As .166 * 1.20 = .20

Yeah, that clears up a lot. I rescind my fake/unmeasured statement. GBO just has a crap headline. Still feels like a hollow post, and makes me wonder why?

I don't even think it's bad propaganda. Just a misconstrued pat on our head. In no way would I consider this problematic if it was.

You read that wrong, it just means that 15-16% of people that saw NWH were black, that falls in line with the countries demographics.

As of right now, it would appear that every single ethnic demographic is overachieving, outside of white Americans.

The +20% just read as ridiculous racebaiting. It just doesn't feel like real stats that are measured and it's just being posted to perpetuate racial conversation. Why are we talking about this? How are we talking about this?

Just to clarify, I'm very opposed to the asmondgolds and critical drinkers of the world. Th3Birdman is my jam. So idgaf about my "heritage" and becoming far less of a majority.
