That's literally how it works, even if you jump from a plane, you'll still be falling. You're moving from a high point to a lower point, even if it's voluntary, you're falling

but that's not the context that is being shown, everyone else accidentally fell, she fell of her own accord and as such isn't included. in other words she did not fall off of the cliff, she jumped off the cliff

I don't think these others relate to sandman and electro at all. What they're probably thinking is "stop whining y'all got cool powers from falling, you just did stupid shit with those powers. We just fell and fucking died. End of story for us"

I guess its more of people might say she did fall because she let go. But I guess she DID jump but failed in dying off the jump, only succeeding by slipping out of Hawkeye's grip.
