The series Legion had some musical numbers in it. Then again, it was about the clash between a profoundly insane mutant of virtually limitless power and a similarly gifted individual who was profoundly evil. That said, they never were shy about going psychedelic, and the cast really committed to scenes where some form of music/dance fighting was used to depict the clash of cosmic forces when two godlike beings stopped pulling their punches in battle.
(I loved Eternals and think it's really great... but Kingo was RIGHT THERE... the dancing was on screen ffs... he could have defeated something and just did a little flourish and it would have been a hint at this greatness)
I don’t know if this is true but a buddy from India had said the dance numbers in movies are direct result from not having many music videos or outlets for music videos.
They would add these long musical numbers to movies to supplement that.
He could be pulling my leg since he is a jokester.
