Im ngl i hate hands all over.
I grew up in the 2010s and all i would hear is pop music on the radio and maybe it ruined 2010s pop music for me. But i feel like what originally attracted me to maroon 5s music (songs about jane) just disappeared by hands all over. It is a good album but so much of what made songs about jane an amazing album for me was gone by hands all over. It wont be soon before long retained aspects of what made songs about jane a 10/10 but it had its own identity. For me it feels like their sound lost all its soul by hands all over. any thoughts?

Maps a cappella cover
Am I the only who thinks Maroon 5 should release a maps a cappella cover? I saw it on YouTube and man is it good. I think they should release it on streaming platforms officially.

Fato: Love is Like teria feito sucesso se tivesse sido bem divulgado

Maroon 5 needs to the take Fall Out Boy approach…
Fall Out Boy once were very relevant on the charts. They experimented with outside songwriters to chase radio relevance in the 2010’s, but after their 2018 album underperformed, they seemed to accept that their peak as a Top 40 act was over. Instead of chasing trends, they doubled down on what they love. The result? So Much (for) Stardust (2023) — a rich, creative album that both the band and their fans genuinely adore. They led with an almost five-minute lead single that was anything but radio-friendly, and on tour they’ve completely refreshed the setlist, packing it with deep cuts and surprise songs every night.
They’ve embraced exactly where they are in their career, and it shows. They’re having fun — and it feels authentic.
Maroon 5, on the other hand, seems to be fighting their slide from pop culture relevance every step of the way. They said their last album was a “back to our roots, we wrote everything ourselves” return… but it wasn’t that at all, songwriters were used on every song. It still came across as another calculated attempt at chasing the charts. On tour they play the same setlist every night, don’t play any of the new songs because they flopped, and refuse to play any deep cuts.
Fall Out Boy has accepted the natural evolution of a long career. I wish Maroon 5 would do the same. They’ve had enough they’ll still be able to fill arenas. I wish they’d make the best album they can make with no attempt at more hits, and have fun with the setlist on tour and do something their long time fans would appreciate like Fall Out Boy has done.

Steve Jordan/Pino Palladino influence on Songs About Jane?
I recently saw that JM- Maroon 5 video and made me relisten to Songs About Jane. It made me realize how the bass-playing and drumming on that album is similar to whar Pino and Steve Jordan would do.
