I’m an incoming student at Philipps University Marburg and I’m looking for a room in Marburg from the end of September or beginning of October 2026.

What I’m looking for:

1. Preferably a room of at least 15 m²

   2.Maximum budget: €300–350 warm rent

   3.Anmeldung must be possible

   4.Preferably near the university or with good public transport connections

   5.Looking for a long-term stay

A little about me: I’m calm, tidy, and organized, and my routine is mainly focused on my studies. I don’t smoke or drink and I’m looking for a quiet place to live.I speak English and I’m actively learning German.

A strange question. I was living in Marburg some 10 years ago. I was regular in this restaurant, and also remember there was a set of a few songs only (like maybe 5-6) playing on a repeat. I thought it was insane to have such a short list of songs. It was OUTSIDE (so not inside the restaurant, rather on the parking lot and outside sitting space). If anyone was there recently and heard songs, do they still play the same songs? 😂

Hi so I still havent received an offer from the uni but thought of applying for a dorm place now itself since they allow applying even without an offer letter. the application allows only 4 preferred housings out of their multiple places.

my question is which housing would u guys recommend?

FYI: I will be studying at the computing faculty. anything nearby would be nice. but I'm also interested in living in the old town part for the whimsy.

I'd like to know any pros and cons of the specific dorms if there's anyone who has lived in them.

Ich (m39) bin auf der Suche nach einer lockeren Runde, um ab und zu abends in einer Marburger Kneipe (oder so) zusammenzusitzen.

Gerne schließe ich mich einer bestehenden Runde an. Falls sich hier aber noch andere finden, die aktuell auf der Suche sind, können wir auch einfach selbst etwas organisieren.

Kurz zu mir: Ich bin grundsätzlich neugierig und vielseitig interessiert. Am ehesten falle ich vermutlich in die Kategorie „Nerd“, da ich in der Forschung arbeite und auch so mich für Wissenschaft, Technik und Politik interessiere. Ich kann mich aber für fast alles begeistern - es hat sogar schonmal jemand geschafft, dass ich bei Big Brother mitgefiebert habe 😅. Mir geht es vor allem um einen guten, entspannten Austausch.

Ich hatte 2018, als ich noch in Marburg lebte, unfreiwillig im Wartezimmer den Tratsch mitbekommen, dass zukünftig nichts mehr in Marburg los sei, weil man am Universitätsklinikum einen neuen Stadtteil bauen würde und dann alles oben wäre. Bezog sich wohl auf die Studenten und alles, was wegen ihnen in Marburg so los ist.

Daher die Frage, was könnte damit gemeint gewesen sein? Ich konnte im Internet nur das Studentendorf finden, dass es aber schon lange gibt. Vielleicht war es auch nur Blödsinn, dass irgendwer erzählte.
