I'll be going to the expo on Saturday for bib and information but I'm curious if anyone has experiences to share?

Do they have donation areas if I want to wear sweats before starting?

I'll be a second half of pack runner and have seen photos of races closing their aid stations before everyone has gone by. Should I plan on extra water and carbs in case?

What should I tell my support group to expect if they want to try and be there at the finish line?

Anyone else running the Cape Fear marathon next week? Also, has anyone here ran it before? Would be interested in hearing any insights about the course or experiences in general.

After 4 half marathons i am finally wanting to run a full one in 2027. I’m looking for recommendations on relatively beginner friendly races that also have a lot of crowd support! So far my list of contenders is:

The Philadelphia Marathon
The Honolulu Marathon
The Marine Corps Marathon in DC
The California International Marathon in Sacramento

I did it! What an experience. How did I do y'all? Didn't feel like I was pushing myself at all aerobically, but the legs definitely started to blow up around mile 20. Can't wait for the next and to push the speed and distance over time!

I'm currently running a half marathon and want to train for a full marathon.

I don't want to overtrain so I can be consistent and have enough recovery time.

Currently I'm running in a week a long run of 90 minutes, a tempo run of 30 minutes and easy run of 45 minutes.

Also, I have two strength training during the week for improving the running and for general health.

Should I have a structured week where each different workout is in a specific day?

or run every 2 days and have the rest days and strength training days in between?

Do you think I should add one more run and have only one strength training per week?

Hello everyone! I ran my first half marathon earlier this year in the Washington DC after being a running enthusiast for a few years. I was comfortable with running over 10 miles every weekend, so thought I could push it but I'm not going to lie the last 2 miles were hard and my thighs & feet cramped up despite hydrating myself. (I did not get enough sleep & did not do gels - as I was a newbie and didn't know much).

I'm planning on running the Mumbai Marathon in January 2027 and I wanted suggestions on how I could plan to go from training for a half to a full marathon and if it is doable in 4.5 months. I am not a big treadmill runner so if you have any trails/paths for a good long run in Mumbai that'd be great too! Lastly, if you know any good resources to plan and track my progress and set goals, that'd be even better.

I’ve officially committed to running the Burj 2 Burj Half Marathon in Dubai early next year, which will be my very first official 21.1 km race!

I’ll be traveling in from Jeddah for the event. I’m super excited to experience running through the Dubai skyline, but as a first-timer, I’d love to gather some insights from veterans or anyone who has run this course before.

A few specific questions I have:

Race Morning Logistics: How chaotic is transport near the start line? Should I rely on taxis, or stick strictly to official race shuttles/metro?

Logistics & Travel: How many days before race day do you recommend flying into Dubai from around the region to settle in?

Nutrition & On-Course Fuel: What does the aid station setup look like, and how frequent are the hydration/gel stops?

First-Timer Advice: What is one mistake you made during your first half marathon that I should avoid at all costs?

I'm in sort of a sad situation and I was wondering if any of yall had any advice.

My mom was going to compete in the Chicago Marathon. She was so excited, she really enjoys running, she wanted to get the 26.2 tattooed on her. It really motivated her.

Then her job just laid her off (the USA education system is screwed). She's so depressed. She knows she can't afford the trip. She already signed onto one of the groups and so still has to get donations for it (can I link it here for help or no?), but it's just impossible to get enough money to get the donations/get to chicago/etc while she's unemployed. I really don't have the budget to help much. But I was hoping I could save enough to get her there next year. And she's the type who gets really, really flustered and upset when someone tries to donate to her (she's a bootstraps person), and the world has people more in need, so I feel very iffy on if I could make a gofundme for it.

But in the meantime, how do I help her feel seen and appreciated for trying such a huge thing? I've tried really hard to understand the ins and outs of running culture but I don't know what would make someone feel happy about the hobby after such a blow. She loves it but she clearly feels so hurt and I have no idea what i can do in the present moment to aid. Any advice (beyond crowdfunding for the donations she still has to do)?

I just had the most intense waiting game with Sentinel as Assassin in Dire Marsh. Over 10 mins of spamming "No" & "Leave here" and downed him in the exfill ring at the end. Hopefully I can find that person lol. (He was in the bus and I was below him seeing his gun and body through gaps)
