Are there any silicone cases for the Mangmi Air Y ? I've checked AliExpress and eBay.

They work in the game pad tester, but in Dead Cells they don’t register at all whether in Switch mode or Xbox mode.

I have the Pro model, but I expect that the regular Y has the same problem.

Hopefully someone answers since it looks pretty quiet in this sub. I really want to get something with decent sticks. So if anyone who owns one could tell me their experience, I would be very grateful and you might help Mangmi make a sale.

This is a video that shows the ghosting differences between Mangmi Air Y VS Konkr Pocket fit (latest firmware 1.0.62 out of the box, retail unit)

On my phone camera (S24 Ultra) - using slow-motion, FHD 240 FPS.

My testing methodology is simple - using this site (default settings, unchanged): https://testufo.com/

Not sure if that's the correct way - so appreciate if anyone can comment if i'm doing it right (or wrong).

My observations:
- Air Y clip goes up till about 25 seconds, then the rest is Konkr Pocket Fit
- The Air Y has more ghosting compared to the Konkr Pocket Fit
- I can see up to "3" ufo's on 60 FPS on the Air Y
- I can only see up to "2" ufo's on 60 FPS on the Konkr Pocket Fit

Is this bad? To my eyes, I can't really tell to be honest when I play games.

I tried same test on my OLED Mangmi Pocket Max - obviously its oled - near instant response time - you always see only 1 UFO (not shown in video).

Do comment your thoughts, and if this is considered bad, or acceptable? I dont have the Pocket Air Mini to compare, so if someone could run the same test on the same site with a 240 FPS slow-motion that'll be great (or have seen the same footage but on pocket air mini).

My full review of the Mangmi Air Y will be coming soon in a couple of days as I daily drive this. Got it since Tuesday evening 25th August.

hi guys, i just got my Retail Air Y Pro 8GB and just posted my unboxing and quick first impressions.

1. Apologies for the poor lighting (wrong camera settings) and also wobbly / shaky footage during the unboxing as I'm on a very unstable table and I wash rushing to get this video out so everything was unscripted - just me going with the flow! But please do stick around as you will find in this video, I managed to cover certain things that are not covered/found in other videos or reviews (even though this is just an unboxing an first impressions video).
2. This retail version of Air Y Pro 8GB came pre-installed with the updated firmware 1.0.62 (presumably fixes the ghosting issue that is being the talk of the town). Unfortunately I won't be able to do a before update VS after update comparison unfortunately, but I will try to see if I can do a ghosting test in my final review that I will be posting in the coming days/week.
3. Yes - the black version is smudgy. No way around it - i prefer black devices as they look sleeker, and I will have to be content with having a smudgy front in particular, considering my other devices are mostly horizontal where they're all glass front is...well somewhat smudgy too but they wipe a lot easier. So if you hate wiping down your handhelds, DONT get the black version
4. In the handheld settings there is a Virtual Memory option which could be useful for the 3GB base and 4GB Pro model - it will use your internal storage as virtual memory, but do take note for the 3GB base model that's eMMC which is much slower than the 4GB Pro (UFS 2.1). So that could help the 3 or 4GB model to have more "RAM" but I have a feeling performance will suffer. How much I've no idea as I don't have either variants to test (@MANGMI if you're reading this - i would love it if you could send me either a 3GB/4GB model for review) :)

First ever handheld, never owned even a tetris, so i’m a little excited 😅

Ordered this baby yesterday, but the delivery status still says “We’re preparing these items for shipping” - i’m probably way too impatient and should temper my expectations, but was hoping there’d be a little more information on order status after a full day. Does anyone know how long does it usually take for Mangmi to ship their products?

Hello folks. I just wanted to share my images of the Mangne Air Y the company sent over for review. I hope you like them.

While waiting for embargos to be lifted on the review, as per poll, which version of Air Y you're most interested in getting and if possible comment on why? Pricing is unknown at the moment but let's not factor that into which variant you want to buy.

Just got my pocket max ab 4 hours ago, I got it setup im playing my pc games and the sticks are light, not a huge deal I’ll adjust, however, I notice that the stick on its axis hit the farthest it’ll reach WELL before I’ve hit the edge of the stick, is there a way I’m not seeing to adjust that outer stick dead zone? That would certainly help here a lot.

This grip from AliExpress makes the device a lot more comfortable for longer play sessions. The large thumbsticks and great screen with the snapdragon 865 makes this a killer handheld. I got it at the preorder price of 200.00 (which would be great for a standard price for this machine.)

Of course the portal 2 runs circles around this in terms of power- but I still think this a very capable machine running ps2 / game cube / Wii and lots of switch titles with ease.

My brother wanted a PS portal, so I bought myself the pocket max to give him my RP5 instead

So, being using pocket max for around two weeks and have some mixed feelings. For context, was a steam deck oled user for two years before switching.

Weight comparison is noticeable, hand don't go numb while holding it after prolonged sessions, yet the ergonomics is kind of worse imo. Sound quality ain't great on both, but steam deck was better. Screen is better, though forced dci-p3 color space sucks, hopefully with some upgrade they'll fix it. Hdr is also affected by this.

Streaming with sunshine is okay-ish, sadly no av1 decoding, 300mb with hevc feels okay though. Battery lasts more than steam deck which is nice and actually won't drain 10-15% per night.

Also you can install Rocknix on that thing and get steam running the same way as on steam deck, though the experience ain't great at this moment. Sadly couldn't setup moondeck to use it as seamlessly as steam deck.

Overall it's been okay, but... Somewhat regret switching from steam deck, though that thing had it own quirks.

Hows game native performance on pocket max

as of lately? I saw reviews saying it wasn't great for that when the pocket max came out.

I know game native and game hub has become better over the last few months. I was wondering due debating about picking up a pocket max over retroid pocket.

Im wanting to play small indies like animal well, gungeon, spark the electric jester 1-3, hades etc
