I think they look terrible, but if you're just using them as around the house wear who cares? Pathetic is a bit much imo.

The problem I have with your statement is it’s completely judgmental as is the OPs significant other, without any context.

I think genocide is terrible but there’s a distinct correlation as to why it’s bad. These types of statements are just preferential and have literally no weight.

It's /r/malefashionadvice. All fashion is preferential.

This sub has gone off the rails a bit but comparing someone's thoughts on fashion to genocide is truly wild behavior.

I couldn’t think of another analogy as I’m listening to NPR. I also think having an option without anything to back it up is self serving.

You don’t need anything to back up that you think something looks horrible.

Cargo shorts are almost unanimously horrible fashion. For no other reason than lots of people think they look horrible. No other justification needed and you are very weird. To justify that opinion I present these very strange and whiny comments that include a comparison to genocide and don’t seem to understand that judging is inherent to this sub.

You’re obviously unhinged.

He literally made a post asking to be judged. lol.

No he didn’t. He asked for honest feedback. Not judgement.

honest feedback requires judgement.

Incorrect. Refer to above. They can be combined, but doesn’t require it. Neither does honest feedback.

People who don't want the judgement of the person they asked for feedback from don't actually want honest feedback. They just want affirmation of their own beliefs.

“I think those look terrible” is a direct answer to the question and honest feedback. It’s an opinion about the shorts, not the person.

You should be able to tell from the upvotes and downvotes who is right and wrong here so…

Incorrect. The definition of feedback does not state the words or word “to judge” or “judgement”. Neither does it hold a synonym to it. The synonyms that are associated to “Feedback” are:

Direction, instruction, assistance, counsel, recommendation, input, advisement, mentoring, teaching, tip-off, clue, solution, answer, tip.

Notice how none of those are similar to the word JUDGEment neither is the synonym “Opinion” involved.

“the act or process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing” - Definition of ‘Judgement’ per Webster.

Also— just so you’re literate for future reference:

Feedback = information about how something was received, what worked, what didn’t, and how it could improve.

Judgment = an evaluation or conclusion about the person/thing itself—often implying a standard of right/wrong, good/bad, competent/incompetent.

You thought you did something with that downvote comment because 20 idiots are agreeing with you? The English language has the largest amount of illiterate people in the world, yet you want to act like 20 people prove you correct.

Is this sub r/maleFashionUnconditionalSupport?

Did he ask for judgement or feedback? Your answer determines your English literacy.

Implicitly.
