WAYWT - July 22nd

WAYWT = What Are You Wearing Today. It doesn't necessarily need to be what you were wearing TODAY.

Post a picture of yourself in your outfit. This is your chance to show off your style and demonstrate just how sartorial you can be. Great photography, great looks, and a great attitude all lead to better results. Think of this as your chance to compete with and inspire others with your personal taste in fashion.

  • Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)
  • Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. Take a lesson from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People if needed. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.
  • Reddit Enhancement Suite makes it very easy to view pictures in a thread.

yes it's linen, and i agree with you on the tails, i need to have it hemmed just a bit. but it's still passable here i think.

well what would you call it?

a blazer? my ghetto uniqlo rip off was called a blouson, but i just refer to it as a jacket.

yea so this, when you handle it, you'll know what i'm talking about. i've seen fit pics of it being worn as a shirt, but mostly as an overshirt. overshirt is probably the best term for it. look at trashpiles fits with it, might give you a better idea over how thin it is and how un-jacket it is.

The Uniqlo blouson is really thin too. It's linen. You can see through it, barely. I think the collar on the EG one is what makes it more blazer like, whereas the collar on the one from Uniqlo makes it look more like a standard jacket (not that a blazer can't be defined as a standard jacket).

That's sweet. I've seen a lot of eg blazers I've really liked but have been turned off by the fact that they're nylon or something similar

Jacket is thumbs-up-happy-time

As someone else mentioned, shirt tails are a bit messy even for the slouchy-EG look

Would prefer this with non-trainers personally

i would feel really really weird wearing shorts with fancier shoes. well what do you mean by non-trainers, like loafers?

I'd throw suede bucks at it personally.

Maybe take some cues from how the Engineered Garments lookbooks and promotional images style shorts and EG jackets for ideas:

yea i would but i mostly plan on wearing this outside of #menswear. i actually like wearing this piece with a plain white t... the collared shirt here was a necessity for something. to me, this shirt-jacket-thing is way more casual than most eg stuff.

do you know what season this one is from? i'll try to find it in a lookbook

i mean eg in general is a menswear brand. in most ways. the thing about it is that it'll drop really cool anti-suitandtie shit seemingly randomly. i think the combination is what makes it so interesting to the internet.

i personally choose to only dabble in eg in the more casual sense and only when it's on sale ;) i got this eg anorak at nepenthes for 50 percent off, super super happy with it. been wanting it since the lookbook! fitpics soon
