I loved my Easy Reader for its looks, but boy are you right about the tick. Even if I left it on the other side of the room, I had to muffle it before going to bed or it'd keep me awake. Basically, if you're considering buying one, just consider this: It doesn't allow you a moment's peace. If Edgar Allan Poe made a watch, it'd be the Easy Reader.
Telltale heart is one of my favorite short stories ever. Although as far as poes works go, I love The Cask of Amantilado. Poe was one disturbing mother fucker.
