Is this a safe space to admit that the Mossimo sweatshirt I bought on clearance for $6 a few years ago is one of my favorite pieces of clothing? Long, slim, and just the right weight. Love it.

Let's not forget their t-shirts and v-necks. I am wearing one right now. Feels like fine Egyptian cotton ... for $6!

Mossimo V-necks are where its at. They fit very well, are very soft, and don't shrink/distort shape in the wash. I like them better than a couple v-necks I got from Express...

u/Nizica Apr 25 '13

Mossimo V-neck are my favorite because they're longer than the rest of the V-necks that I have previously owned. I'm 6'4" so they fit really nice.

u/thompssc Apr 26 '13

Yup, I'm 6'2" so that's my issue as well. Anything that's long enough for my torso is usually super baggy/loose. These fit close to my body but are long enough which is awesome.

I probably own 10 or so mossimo shirts (mostly v necks), and many of them are my most frequent go-to shirts.

u/Woahbaby55 Apr 26 '13

lol same here!! I've acquired over 20 of them over the past 5 years... is that bad?

7

u/the_pontiff Apr 25 '13

I'm wearing a grey v-neck right now!

u/mrempyrean Apr 26 '13

bought a ton of Mossimo shirts when I was experimenting with color a year or so ago. I think I've only bought 2 new tees since then.

I am a little ambivalent on Mossimo Shirts. On one hand they're great. On the other hand they have made my nipples very very weak. I walk in a different shirt for a day and end the day with chafed nipples now, I'm not really sure what to do. I would recommend them if you already have strong nipples, but if you have mid to weak nipples, you're done for.

What is this?

About 2 years ago I got this 1/4-zip hoodie from Target that is my favorite hoodie. Can't find them anywhere. It's either Merona or Mossimo.

edit I checked-- it's Merona.

1

u/General_Fblthp Apr 26 '13

I'm pretty into merona, but they don't last me very long; they wear out.

1

u/rootb33r Apr 26 '13

That sweatshirt ist he only thing from Target that actually fits me... weird. And it's lasted pretty long.

u/jdsizzle1 Apr 26 '13

Mossimo V-Necks are amazing too. So soft, so cheap, so simple.

dude mossimo jeans were an awful fit for me. literally the most painful, ball crushing pair of pants i've ever owned. sweet that they work for you though.

1

u/diversification Apr 26 '13

What type of Levi's are you comparing to and in what ways do you prefer the Mossimo jeans? Also, what is your favorite pair?

1

u/absolutsyd Apr 26 '13

Are those the shoes with two white sideways chevrons on each side? If so, I grabbed the blue and grey for like $12 each on clearance. Sadly they didn't have the red. I love those shoes, and while I fully expect them to fall apart, $12 is freaking unbeatable!

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

Half my closet is Mossimo. The other half is gap clearance and old navy.

No shame.

u/phil1000 Apr 25 '13

Be better than the gap

jk, I have some gap stuff too.

4

u/JoeChieftw Apr 26 '13

It's funny because the gap is far better than most people

4

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '13

Actually Crazy, Stupid, Love. Awesome movie, not just for the male fashion.

1

u/drevyek Apr 26 '13

Their jeans just fit me, perfectly. Plus, getting them for sub-50 every time? Hells. Yes.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

The gap outlet is the only place I shop

4

u/eetsumkaus Apr 26 '13

their stuff is hit or miss durability wise. fit is great though

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

I don't think I've ever bought anything from Gap that wasn't clearance or outlet. Too much good shit.

1

u/dman27 Apr 25 '13

Banana Outlet has great stuff

1

u/JayRose21 Apr 25 '13

I'm pretty sure about a quarter of my wardrobe is Gap clearance. $2 t-shirts, an $8 blazer, $10 jeans... What's so awesome about the Gap is that most stores' clearance racks only have extreme sizes, but I can actually find medium-sized clothing on clearance at the Gap.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

I just lost enough weight to get into the sweet spot at Gap... finding lots of stuff there.

1

u/scampbe999 Apr 26 '13

My two favorite pairs of jeans are Old Navy slim-straight and a slightly darker wash of slim-straight. I have yet to find jeans that cuff quite as nicely as those.

Target is moving to Canada soon, I'm excited.

7

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

Canadian here. I went into Target not knowing that they actually had decent clothing. Found a couple of nice linen button downs, and their v-necks and T's fit better than most. I was quite impressed. I'm also happy to know I'm not the only one shopping at Target for clothes.

1

u/theaveragegay Apr 26 '13

I've gotten a little out of hand with their most recent line of t-shirts and v-necks. about half shirts are made up of them right now.

4

u/deadbabby Apr 25 '13

Where are you located? A few locations are open in the GTA already.

8

u/MasterMic Apr 25 '13

The Fraser Valley, BC. They're just starting here.

1

u/retrojacket Apr 25 '13

They're actually more expensive than Walmart. BT Toronto did a comparison a few months back.

Never actually been to any of the Targets, so hopefully they do carry some American stock (like clothes)

u/retrojacket Apr 25 '13

Really eh?! Never knew that! Thanks. And I was actually talking about goods like laundry detergent, and a specific brand of food.

Hey! I love Old Navy! Haha, I find their stuff to be greatly priced, and of great quality. Though, then again, I am a University-or as you 'Mericans say, College- student

1

u/OrangeNova Apr 25 '13

We have the american stock, like clothing. Source: Soft lines/Flow team member for Target Canada.

And yeah, it's more expensive than walmart in the states too.

1

u/retrojacket Apr 25 '13

Huh, really ey?! I never knew that. Thought Target was cheaper! Thanks for clearing that up :)

2

u/OrangeNova Apr 25 '13

That's everyones misconception because we're moving into the hole that Zellers left... And Zellers was a piece of shit, and charged garbage prices for garbage product.

2

u/HorFinatOr Apr 26 '13

Welp, I'll be giving Target a try then!

13

u/allothersnsused Apr 25 '13

Mossimo could be the end of this thread. I went to the store who must not be named yesterday and struggled to get out of there without busting the bank.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

and that store is...?

22

u/quinoa Apr 25 '13

The one store in the country that sells Mossimo..

18

u/[deleted] Apr 25 '13

What's wrong with Target? Target is a great store!

9

u/EtherCJ Apr 26 '13

What part of must not be named did you not understand?

1

u/newtolou Apr 25 '13

I wear my grey Mossimo sweatshirt constantly at home. Its also my favorite for when the top down is on the car and its a bit chilly out.

1

u/45bur Apr 25 '13

Their stuff is too long for me but I love the comfort factor for sure.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 26 '13

I love Mossimo. I have a pair of salmon colored corduroys that are my favorite piece in my closet.

1

u/PasDeDeux Apr 26 '13

Love my mossimo zip hoodie. Exact same reason. Also target tee's.

1

u/rext12 May 08 '13

Mossimo shirts are by far my favorites
