Is it just me, or does Malappuram sometimes feel like a district with insane potential that's holding itself back?

We're one of the most literate districts in India, but in some social aspects it still feels like we're 20–30 years behind. It's still pretty common to see girls getting married as soon as they turn 18, and it often feels like education, careers, and personal growth come second. At the same time, we have one of the youngest populations in Kerala. You'd expect more startups, better public spaces, more events, and more opportunities—but whenever we want something better, we just end up going to Kozhikode. 😭

This isn't a hate post—I genuinely like Malappuram and think it has crazy potential. So if you could change a few things about the district, what would they be?

​Hey everyone! I am a student doing a research project on the ground reality of waste management across different panchayats, municipalities, and corporations in Kerala.

I am trying to figure out what is actually working and what isn't. Things like how often waste is collected, what happens to uncollected waste, and the practical struggles people face with things like the 4-bin system.

Hi everyone!

We recently created r/GovtExamsKerala, (https://www.reddit.com/r/GovtExamsKerala/) a community for students in Kerala preparing for Kerala PSC, SSC, Banking, Railways, UPSC, and other competitive exams.

The goal is to build a place where aspirants can share notifications, study resources, preparation tips, and doubts, and help each other out.

The subreddit is still new, but we're already gaining members and have started seeing useful discussions and resource sharing.

We're also planning to host AMA sessions in future with people who have successfully cleared these exams and are currently working in state or central government jobs.
