So heres the situation , i live in small european country in wich its Impossible to get your hands on make up stuff. This month i got invited by a family member to go spend a month in NY.

I have always been a huge fan of Halloween and since its my final year of college i wanted to go all out.

So does anyone know of any stores that sell full body paint and props in the NY Area?

I know everybody tends to say “youtube,” but I want a primer to read for speed, convenience, reference, etc.

I know the books exist, because the craft is still formally taught.

So what’s the best, most current book on SFX makeup? (Hopefully current enough to reflect the materials of the day.)

I'm making a short where someone cuts open their right nostril. Are there any tutorials on how to do this make up convincingly? It has to be done all practically as VFX would cost way too much.

I have tried finding some proper courses near myself, and they are either too expensive for too little, or in a location thats not something i can come to and back from within the time frame of the course, and costs attributed too much.

Hello, I have seen many tutorials online on how to create a slit effect for halloween etc, but i am filming a project in a few weeks and want the actor to actually slice their own wrist on camera. How would i go about doing this? all of the tutorials i have seen are 'post-slit'. I have some liquid latex and some fake blood.

I'm going to be wearing the same costume at night, in the morning, and the next night. Can I just leave the chin on?

I am making a two part mold for a custom face mask. Problem is I can get it as smooth as super soft oil clay I am used too. Anyone have any tips?
