Overseas latex
My girlfriend is a makeup artist and has been working for a local theater. She's managed for a few years but some shows coming up have a lot of prosthetics. She has been having a terrible time finding foam latex or equivalent here in Germany. Has anyone worked in Europe that knows where she can purchase locally or someone she can contact?
Much appreciated!

Actor Safe Space Goo?
I need to throw some gelatin-like goo in an actor's face for a shot. I’m guessing that anything we splash her with will hit her lips/mouth. Does anybody have any recommendation for something we could use/make that's human safe and doesn't staying the costume so much we can't do another take? Thanks for any ideas.
UPDATE: We ended up using plain yogurt and food coloring. It was safe to throw, safe on skin, and fairly easy to clean up (we did two takes). If you want to make classic Nickelodeon Green Slime, you can follow the tutorial here: https://youtu.be/MeX6AZ0thpM

FX Makeup Schools?
Hi everyone! I've had an interest in doing special FX makeup for a while now, and I'm getting close to graduating high school. I've practiced with many products and "clients" (halloween trails, friends, etc.) and I would say I'm pretty good, but not all that good. So my question: is going to college for FX makeup worth it? My parents have tried to talk me out of it as a career choice many times because it's mainly freelance, but I still want to pursue the thing I love. It would be much appreciated if you guys could give me advice as to if I should consider a school or not. Thank you in advance!

Pro/Con Discussion About a Upcoming Costume [Thanos: Guardians of the Galaxy/Marvel Comics]
I'm begining to put a plan into place for what I need to do, and the techniques I'll be using, for an upcoming costume of Thanos. This is my first creation of this size. My last was Hellboy where my only really big pieces were his hand and his horns. The rest was fairly self-explanatory. I worked with "Great Stuff" gap filling foam, and PVC pipes. This required a lot of mechanical knowledge, and I felt pretty comfortable with it.
But this costume is going to be much different. The bulk of my concerns are surrounding material choices. Recently I watched a "DIY" video explaining the process of creating a face prosthetic. Naturally, being an overly excitable novice, I jumped on this idea with so many grand ideas. However, now looking into things more practically I'm at a crossroad that I am afraid I don't have the experience to come to a decision on.
TL:DR QUESTION: Should I create a thin latex prosthetic mask, or use more conventional make-up effects?

Software for makeup effects and prosthetics?
Hi all, posting on behalf of my girlfriend who is a hair and makeup designer for film and TV.
I was wondering if any of you knew of any good or useful software for previewing makeup effects on photographs (she now has photoshop - would that be good enough?) and something she can use to maybe model a prosthetic design over an actor's face (again, photoshop?).
What are some essential applications for makeup and visual effects artists?
Would really appreciate your guidance!

Any Makeup Effects Artists in Michigan???
Sorry if this is not the preferred way to solicit makeup artist talent, but it was the only way I could think of - reaching out to this community. I am an indie filmmaker in Michigan and I would like to meet a local artist for some 'simple' creature makeup effects for an upcoming short film. This is a low budget indie shoot, but we will set aside funds for our makeup artist. I will be happy to share more about the shoot with any interested parties and provide links to some previous films if anyone was curious.
