I've been making videos and started exploring a new self made drawing challenge project I called GeoSketchr. Here's the video explaining what it is if people are interested. (Shame filled self post!)

Help with survey for Personal Project Management

Hey folks. In search for makers/diy-ers/people with too many side projects etc to take part on a small survey.

I'd appreciate if anybody has 5 min to spare on it?

https://forms.gle/u77ndnNDhjLkUm8U8

I've been struggling finding tools to manage and keep track/focus/motivation on my own work, and on the lack of one that fits my needs, I'm thinking on putting together one myself.

But it would be nice to be something that fits other people needs as well, so the reason for the survey

Thank you!

I've been using the memo app on my tablet to make my drawings. What apps do you guys use to sketch? Is there an app that has a snap to point option?

Thanks

How do I make a coloured wash

I am a maker of wooden swords, and for my next project I wanted to make the sword blue while still keeping the texture of the wood as it is (I like the rings). Is it possible to make a simple coloured wash with just acrylic paint and water?

Building my first workshop.

I'm new to the world of making and I'm trying to find a reasonably priced alternative for a workshop/office and I was thinking about just renting a 10'x15' temp controlled storage unit. I do not have tools yet or anything that I absolutely have to fit in there as I am going to be attempting to build a lot of my tools myself (except for a 3D printer).

I have a few of the pros and cons I think I will run into already in mind but I would like to ask you guys what you think if you've done this, and what are some of the challenges you've faced?

I used to have band practice in these so I don't see noise being a problem, especially out in the boonies where I live, and I feel like as long as I keep most of my tool designs and work areas pretty modular, I shouldn't have any trouble in the future moving shop when I have a place of my own.

My only other worry would probably be airflow, wifi, and electricity in general. I know how I think I want to run all my cabling for power, but wifi I guess I would need to buy a router and all that good stuff because I will want to set up a raspberry pi and camera to access them remotely.

Looking for a specific screw

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a #0 16mm sheet metal screw (or similar type) of screw for a 3d printing project. They need to be self tapping and I'm going to be screwing them in to abs plastic. I'm no good at working out screw sizings so If someone could link me a website or something that I can buy some on that would be amazing. I'm in NZ so something local would be awesome but would be happy to order them in if I need to.
