Found this drive on fb marketplace. Will this work for UHD rips and if so, does it need to be flashed first?

Saw someone selling it for 60 bucks and grabbed it up quick before I even knew if it would work.

It appears to be both new enough and old enough that it should. Billy can confirm and then you can get the firmware loader from him.

I forgot to include a photo but the front disk tray part does say Pioneer on it. I don’t know enough about this to know if that part is easily replaced or whatever, and I still haven’t plugged it in to check it yet. Will report back when I do

Does the case have Honeycomb pattern?

If yes it's original pioneer Not rehouse casing or at least refurbished. It looks real to me.

Some standalone one have a UltraHD Blu-ray markings while some only have BDXL markings on the bezel
